Finally, a certified Bird Friendly coffee from Costa Rica!  And wow, is it ever bird friendly! Hacienda La Amistad is a 10,000 hectare estate that abuts and forms part of the broader La Amistad Biosphere Reserve & International Park (570,000 ha!). It is considered a biological corridor, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is part of the reserve’s ecosystem mosaic. The La Amistad land is a protected rainforest, conservation land, and buffer forest within the UNESCO-designated La Amistad Biosphere Reserve.

Within this huge tract,  300 acres supports organic cultivation of bananas, papaya, pineapple and this organic Bird Friendly Costa Rica La Amistad coffee.  See where it is grown on Restor.eco

We roast the coffee to a medium roast that shows off its wide appeal.  Over a balanced toasty background we find notes of milk chocolate, sweet maple syrup with stone fruit, vanilla and occasionally cardamom.

For best effect, brew this coffee at 3/4 strength
